It is usually good to start with a definition. A lot becomes clear. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is an allowable add-on for websites to better compete for Google’s attention. It’s very simplistic, but it’s enough for our reasoning. It’s all about traffic. And high traffic usually means higher revenue. So in the end, it’s mostly about money.
In reality, SEO looks at things from two sides - how Google works and vice versa, what people search for on the web and how they interact with it. The more important thing, however, is that the site looks good to Google, is liked and appears high in search results.
